How We Teach Parkour

Classes are energetic and engaging, but they are also carefully guided. Students learn how to listen, take turns, work safely around equipment, support classmates and make thoughtful movement choices.

Our mission is to develop good people through the arts. In Parkour class, students practise the values of Commitment, Compassion, Respect and Responsibility while developing healthy collaboration, focused perseverance and positive communication.

Intro to Parkour

Intro to Parkour is designed to get young movers ready with pre-parkour skills. Students learn many of the same foundational skills as older parkour students, taught in an obstacle course style that is age-appropriate, playful and structured.

This class supports coordination, balance, body awareness, jumping, climbing, safe landings, listening skills and confidence. It is a great starting point for younger students who are not quite ready for older Parkour levels.

Parkour Skills

Parkour Skills classes are perfect for students who love to climb and move. These high-energy classes are built on obstacle-based activities that help students develop strength, stamina, flexibility, agility and control.

Students work on practical movement patterns, safe technique, body awareness and creative ways to move through obstacles. The class is challenging, active and fun, while still keeping safety and progression at the centre of the learning.

Parkour Flipping

Parkour Flipping introduces students to common flips and tricks used in the parkour landscape. This class includes a healthy dose of cardio and conditioning so students build the strength, stamina and body control needed for more advanced movement.

Students are guided through skill progressions and readiness checks before attempting more advanced elements. Flipping skills are taught with an emphasis on control, preparation and safe movement habits.

Safety Comes First

Safety is the foundation of every Parkour class at The School. Students are introduced to skills through carefully sequenced progressions and must demonstrate readiness before advancing to more challenging elements.

Classes include warm-ups, conditioning, landing mechanics, balance work, controlled repetition, obstacle awareness and respectful use of equipment. We do not believe in pushing students into advanced skills before their bodies are ready.
