Ballet
Primary 1 Ballet (Ages 6–7)
Dancers are introduced to structured combinations and ballet vocabulary in an environment that also values emotional and social learning. Students learn how to move with grace and purpose, but also how to support each other’s efforts, respect shared space, and reflect on their learning. Class becomes a setting for discipline and kindness to co-exist.
Primary 2 Ballet (Ages 7–8)
Students refine alignment, control, and musical phrasing while learning to rehearse and perform in groups. Peer awareness is a central theme—students learn how to adjust spacing, mirror others, and dance as a cohesive ensemble. Instruction invites reflection and shared responsibility for the group’s energy and focus.
Primary Ballet (Combined 6–8 yrs)
This mixed-level class supports both individual and group development. Technique is taught with layered expectations, and students practice giving and receiving encouragement. Every dancer learns that ballet is not only an individual practice, but also a shared artistic experience—where community makes movement stronger.
Junior 1 Ballet (Ages 8–9)
Ballet instruction becomes more structured, with barre and centre work supporting technique. At the same time, students are introduced to collaborative movement exercises—partnering, synchronized movement, and group storytelling. The focus is not only on how they move, but how they move together.
Junior 2 Ballet (Ages 9–10)
Dancers explore sequencing, formation work, and spatial awareness through ensemble ballet pieces. They’re asked to reflect on how their individual technique supports group flow. Instruction cultivates poise and empathy, helping dancers shape both their artistry and their role in the class community.
Junior Ballet (Combined 8–10 yrs)
A community-focused class where technique and artistry are taught in tandem. Students work at individual skill levels while learning to move and create as part of an ensemble. Ballet becomes a shared creative experience grounded in cooperation and trust.
Elementary 1 Ballet (Ages 10–11)
Ballet technique is taught through a blend of individual feedback and group awareness. Students learn how to move precisely and collaboratively—maintaining spacing, matching energy, and building scenes together. Ballet becomes both a discipline and a shared expression of commitment and care.
Elementary 2 Ballet (Ages 11–12)
With higher expectations comes deeper collaboration. Students are introduced to corps work, mirrored phrases, and shared staging. They practice consistency and grace not only in their own execution but also in support of the ensemble. Reflection and responsibility are essential parts of the process.
Elementary Ballet (Combined 10–12 yrs)
Students work toward technical mastery while moving in unified rhythm and shape. Everyone learns how to share the space, honour the phrasing, and refine movement with others in mind. Ballet becomes a space where personal discipline and community expression meet.
Intermediate 1 Ballet (Ages 12–13)
Students are expected to dance with presence, focus, and personal ownership. Barre and centre work emphasize control, phrasing, and refinement. Group work encourages dancers to consider how lines, energy, and stage balance contribute to the larger picture. Ballet becomes a language of generosity—movement shaped for others.
Intermediate 2 Ballet (Ages 13–14)
Students explore how clarity of movement enhances storytelling. Adagio and allegro work are taught with emotional nuance, and students reflect on the relationship between technique, music, and meaning. Every class is framed around performance readiness—not just ability, but awareness of impact and intent.
Intermediate Ballet (Combined 12–14 yrs)
This class invites dancers to bring their technique, artistry, and maturity together. Students work toward group cohesion, audience connection, and expressive clarity. The ballet class is not just about precision—it is about sharing beauty, discipline, and emotion with others.
