Aerial dancers will perform in all four Aerial Silks shows: two shows on Tuesday, June 9 and two shows on Thursday, June 11. Dancers will remain at the studio between shows.

Mandatory Dress Rehearsal

Dress rehearsal is mandatory and will take place at The School from 5:30–9:00 PM.

How the Aerial Shows Work

  • Dancers perform in all four Aerial Silks shows.
  • There are two shows on Tuesday, June 9 and two shows on Thursday, June 11.
  • Each show is approximately 30 minutes long.
  • Dancers remain at the studio between shows.
  • The performances are held in-studio at The School.
  • Professional stage lighting will be used.

Hair, Tights, Undergarments & Makeup

Aerial Hair

Please follow the instructions for hair located on your costume. Please use LOTS of gel and/or hairspray for your dancer’s style.

  • Students requiring ponytails may straighten their ponytail, but it is not required.
  • There should be no side part or centre part in the hair.
  • Please remove the part on your child’s hair and brush the hair straight back.
  • Bangs should be off the face and secured with bobby pins and gel.

Jewellery

  • No jewellery is permitted.
  • Please remove earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches, and other accessories before arrival.

Tights & Undergarments

Dancers should wear skin tone footless or stirrup tights with a skin tone body tight or bodyall under their costume. No underwear under costumes.

Makeup

Makeup is not required, but due to the very strong stage lights, we strongly recommend basic makeup so dancers’ features can be properly seen while performing.

  • The tutorial is simply a suggestion; families may use any neutral colours they prefer.
  • We recommend mascara, contouring blush, and a natural red lip at minimum.
  • Please bring lipstick for touch-ups.

Please Remember to Bring

Dance bag labelled with your child’s name, containing:

  • Water bottle
  • Non-staining snack, such as crackers or veggies
  • Lipstick
  • Hair pins
  • Gel and/or hairspray
  • Tights, if required
  • Quiet activity for waiting time between shows

All items must be labelled with your child’s name.

Aerial Silks FAQ

Is this the same as the main dance recital?

No. The Aerial Silks recital is a separate in-studio performance event with its own mandatory rehearsal and show schedule.

How many shows will my dancer perform in?

Aerial dancers perform in all four shows: two shows on Tuesday, June 9 and two shows on Thursday, June 11.

Will dancers leave between shows?

No. Dancers remain at the studio between shows.

How long is each show?

Each show is approximately 30 minutes long.

Where is the Aerial Silks recital?

The Aerial Silks recital will take place at The School – Creative Arts Education, 160 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga.

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets go on sale May 28, 2026 through Eventbrite.

When is dress rehearsal?

Mandatory dress rehearsal is Monday, June 8, 2026 from 5:30–9:00 PM at The School.

How should my dancer wear their hair?

Please follow the hair instructions listed on your costume. Hair should be secured with lots of gel and/or hairspray. There should be no side part or centre part; hair should be brushed straight back. Bangs must be off the face and secured with bobby pins and gel.

Does my dancer need makeup?

Makeup is not required, but due to the very strong stage lights, we strongly recommend basic makeup so dancers’ features can be properly seen while performing.
