Aerial Silks Classes in Mississauga

At The School Creative Arts Education, our Aerial Silks program combines the strength and agility of acrobatics with the grace, creativity and beauty of dance. Located in Port Credit, Mississauga, we offer Aerial Silks classes for children and teens in a safe, supportive and exciting learning environment.

In Aerial Silks, students learn a variety of skills on our hanging silks, including climbs, wraps, poses, transitions and combinations. Classes are designed to build strength, flexibility, coordination, confidence and body awareness while giving students the opportunity to experience movement in the air.

Limited class sizes help ensure each student gets ample time on the silk. Beginners are welcome, and students progress safely at their own pace with guidance from our instructors.

How We Teach Aerial Silks

At The School, Aerial Silks is taught through safe, progressive skill development. Students begin by learning how to use the silks properly, build strength, understand body positioning and develop confidence before moving into more challenging aerial skills.

Classes include warm-up, conditioning, flexibility, silk technique, skill practice and combinations. Students learn that aerial training takes patience, focus, control and consistent effort.

Aerial Silks Technique & Curriculum

In Aerial Silks, students learn a variety of skills on our hanging silks. Classes may include climbs, foot locks, wraps, balances, poses, transitions and beginner-friendly sequences. As students progress, they work toward increased strength, flexibility, control, endurance and confidence in the air.

Aerial Silks classes combine the strength and agility of acrobatics with the grace and beauty of dance. Students learn how to move safely and artistically while developing a strong technical foundation.

Limited space ensures each student receives enough time on the silk and allows instructors to support each dancer’s progress carefully.

Aerial Conditioning + Hoop

Elevate your aerial training with our Aerial Conditioning + Hoop class. In this 60-minute session, students cross-train with exercises specifically designed to enhance their strength, flexibility and endurance for aerial work.

This class supports students who are ready to deepen their aerial training and improve the physical foundations needed for silks and hoop work.

Please note: Aerial Conditioning + Hoop is appropriate for Level 2 and above.

Safety Comes First

Safety is the foundation of every Aerial Silks class at The School. Students are introduced to aerial skills through carefully sequenced progressions and must demonstrate readiness before advancing to more challenging elements.

Classes include structured warm-ups, strength work, flexibility training, controlled repetition, instructor guidance and proper use of mats and equipment. Students are not rushed into advanced aerial skills before they are ready.
