Krystal started dancing at the age of 3 years old and continued to train until she finished high school. She began dancing competitively at the age of 8 and trained in theatre and vocal. ⠀
She holds Cecchetti, RAD and BATD exam accreditations which she completed while still in highschool. ⠀
After highschool Krystal was accepted at Randolph College for the Performing Arts where she graduated with a diploma in Musical Theatre as a triple threat performer. ⠀
A highlight during college was being chosen to dance with Gregory Hines for the filming of the reality show “Class Act”.⠀
Post college Krystal worked on various cruise ships as a featured soloist and had the pleasure of working with various charities throughout The Bahamas.⠀
During and after working on ships she performed throughout Toronto in various industrials, commercial and TV engagements, including the inaugural year of the Luminato Festival. ⠀
Krystal went on to a professional career in dance teaching and quickly found her passion – leading dancers to numerous awards, nationals and highest overall scores. ⠀
Krystal also co-founded Breakthru Dance Challenge – a popular dance competition with national events and workshops. ⠀
Krystal, together with Lindsay spent many MANY summers directing and choreographing musicals for children, teaching dance and instructing summer camps. They later became managers of various programs and theatre companies where they realized they wanted to do this forever – and better!⠀
2 husbands (1 each!!) 4 children and 3000sqft later – Krystal happily calls The School her own. (Well, along with Lindsay of course but let’s be honest no one can really tell them apart anyway)?⠀
Lindsay grew up in a small rural town in south western Ontario. (No, cows don’t sleep standing up and they are VERY hard to tip over. …not that she’s tried….)
Lindsay started dancing at the age of 11 after figure skating and gymnastics and never looked back. While still in high School Lindsay graduated from the Dance Masters of America Teacher’s Training School with honours and as the youngest person ever to receive a degree.
A modelling career led her to the big city of Toronto which led her to pursue her 1st love of theatre and film acting at Ryerson Theatre school.
Simultaneously Lindsay continued to train at The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and University at Buffalo and Kent State University in Jazz, Ballet and Tap dance.
Lindsay went on to a successfull career with roles in film, tv and print ads all while continuing her true passion – teaching dance.
These days you can hear her voice on many tv commercials, radio ads and cartoons and you can find her at the studio hanging with her bestie – Krystal.
Lindsay is thrilled to be one of the directors of The School Creative Arts Education and even more thrilled that she gets to do it with bestie and fellow virgo Krystal.
